Partnership with Parents
Our aim is to support and enhance the development of the children, and to respect, understand and value the contribution parents make towards their child's learning.
Our objectives are to provide parents with information about the nursery before their child starts.
We work with parents in building up a profile of the child's development and needs, when the child starts at the nursery.
We provide opportunities for parents to discuss their child's progress.
Before the child starts at the nursery the parents and the child will be invited to a couple of "settling in" periods. During this the parents will talk to the child's keyworker and any special needs, health problems will be discussed.
Parents will have access to the early learning goals, curriculum activities, regular newsletters and written information placed on the parents' noticeboard.
Staff will complete the children's stepping stones towards the Early Learning Goal and will be available to discuss these with parents if necessary.
A parents evening will be held twice a year to give parents an opportunity to discuss their child's progress with staff.
